Hyatt Hotels Corporation is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer to join our onsite team in a beautiful ocean-view setting. The role is full-time, with rotating overnight shifts and availability on weekends/holidays.

You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot kitchen, laundry, and HVAC equipment, and handle basic electrical/mechanical tasks. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, and more.

Qualifications

• Possess good electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Able to read blueprints, wiring schematics and technical manuals.
• Ability to read and write the English language fluently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the public and other associates.
• Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and Energy Management System.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction.
• Must be able to work on their own with little or no supervision.
• Long hours sometimes required, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance throughout both properties and monitor, operate, and maintain mechanical equipment in all areas.
• Replace light switches, outlets, light fixtures, and work on basic electrical, mechanical and plumbing equipment.
• Work with OSHA safety requirements and fire life safety systems.
• Complete guest calls as needed and document in the Engineering software system.
• Complete projects as needed.

We are looking individuals who can provide authentic and memorable experiences that deliver the Southern California Dream to our guests as a General Maintenance Engineer. This is a full-time position with benefits. This role is fully onsite and requires open availability to work any shift as needed, included weekends and holidays. This position will rotate working overnight shifts.

The General Maintenance Engineer will:

· Perform routine maintenance throughout both properties and will monitor, operate, and maintain the mechanical equipment in all areas.

· Regularly required to stand walk and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds.

· Possess general troubleshooting skills to repair kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and HVAC equipment.

· Must be able to do general facilities maintenance to include but not limited to replace light switches, outlets, light fixtures, and work on basic electrical, mechanical and plumbing equipment.

· Have familiarity with basic OSHA safety requirements, and fire life safety systems.

· Complete some painting and patching work.

· Complete guest calls as needed and properly document in the Engineering software system.

· Complete projects as needed.

This list is not all-encompassing and that daily work tasks may and can be altered to meet business needs.

The rate for this position ranges from $22.49-$27.59/hour.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

OSHA laws require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have a potential of risk to your health or safety. The following is a list of some of the devices required. This is only a sample list and is not to be all-inclusive do to the nature of the work conductive to the Engineering Department.

· Protective gloves, eye protection, breathing protection, hearing protection, lock-out/tag-out protection and any other equipment as necessary to provide a safe working environment.

All work duties conducted by Engineering personal will be evaluated and regular scheduled training and refresher training will be conducted as required by law. Associates will be trained as to the use and care of any and all required PPE equipment. The hotel provides this required PPE and it is the responsibility of engineer to wear this equipment as it relates to daily work assignments. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE to your Manager.

· Follow all Safety Policies and Procedures.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk and stand for long hours and comfortable working with all heights. Must be able to climb ladders, etc.
