Job summary

Grand Hyatt Washington is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer in downtown Washington, D.C. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs across guest rooms, public areas, and meeting spaces, with occasional mechanical/electrical/kitchen/laundry work. A flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is required.

The position offers hourly pay with range $20.00–$25.01, commensurate with experience, and full benefits including insurance, 401k, and growth opportunities within Hyatt.

Qualifications

• Building maintenance experience or experience in a hotel is preferred.
• Good customer service skills are required.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces and front-of-house areas.
• May repair mechanical, electrical, kitchen and laundry equipment as needed.
• Communicate effectively and maintain flexibility to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays (7:00am–11:30pm).

A General Maintenance Engineer will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, meeting space, and front of the house areas. They may also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, and good communication skills are required. This person must have the flexibility to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays, and the ability to work a varied schedule typically between 7:00am - 11:30pm.

The hourly pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.01 commensurate with experience.
