Job summary

AmeriStaff is seeking a General Maintenance Associate responsible for landscaping and groundskeeping around the facility, along with custodial and minor maintenance tasks to support building operations.

Duties include lawn care: mulching, mowing, edging, planting, and pruning to maintain attractive grounds.

Other tasks cover basic cleaning, minor maintenance, and routine repairs to buildings and equipment, with hours varying to cover all operations and events.

Responsibilities

• Care of established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls.
• Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
• Move and edge lawns using power mowers and edgers.
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, and apply mulch and pine needles for protection using gardening tools.
• Ensure all flowering plants, ground-covering foliage, trees, shrubs are pruned and manicured accordingly
• Ensure all mulch beds and landscaped areas are free of weeds and debris

AmeriStaff is currently seeking a General Maintenance Associate

This position's primary responsibility is landscaping and groundskeeping around the facility. In addition, to landscaping, performing custodial, minor maintenance, routine preventative maintenance and repair on buildings, facilities, and mechanical equipment.

Benefits of the General Maintenance Associate:

• Hours- will vary but will include all hours of operation, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary to attend events and to fulfill job responsibilities. Acceptance of work hours customary in the field of sport/entertainment is necessary.
• Pay: $13.75

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Care of established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls.
• Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
• Move and edge lawns using power mowers and edgers.
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, and apply mulch and pine needles for protection using gardening tools.
• Ensure all flowering plants, ground-covering foliage, trees, shrubs are pruned and manicured accordingly
• Ensure all mulch beds and landscaped areas are free of weeds and debris
• Attach wires from planted trees to support stakes.
• Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage.
• Water lawns, trees, or plants using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans.
• Shovel snow from walks, driveways, or parking lots and spread salt in those areas as appropriate.
• Uses hand and power tools for landscaping maintenance and in making minor maintenance repairs and maintaining grounds and walks
• Participates in general cleaning, and repair work. Uses brooms, mops, and floor equipment to sweep, mop, and clean floors
• Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials using specified procedures
• Maintain the overall condition of the building and grounds
• Perform routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, and leaking faucets.
• Participate in general cleaning, painting, and repair work
• Perform routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and assists in repairing ballast and light fixtures.
• Assemble and move furniture, hang pictures, set up and tear down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and function rooms.
• Basic office systems knowledge including but not limited to computer system & programs, cellular phone. Microsoft Office suite knowledge preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
