Job Summary

To perform maintenance work which helps to maintain the school district’s buildings, grounds, and equipment in the best working order possible and to help provide a safe learning environment for all students.

Essential Functions

• Be assigned general maintenance responsibilities as needs dictate.
• General Maintenance responsibilities include, but are not limited to: electrical repairs, plumbing installation/repair, grounds care, carpentry work, installation/replacement of floor tile, cold patch roof repair, operation of equipment, installation/repair of fencing, assemble/repair of furniture and equipment, routine preventive maintenance of equipment, repair driveways and parking lots.
• Make deliveries throughout the district, as needs dictate.
• Assist in loading and unloading of materials, equipment and supplies from trucks.
• Perform record keeping and inventory to allow work orders to be completed in an accurate, efficient, economical and quality manner.
• Perform such tasks and assume such additional responsibilities as may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to add, subtract, divide and multiply in all units of measure consistent with the duties of this position.
• Ability to interface effectively with other departments, school personnel, other maintenance staff, and business contacts from outside the district.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
• Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education.
• Compensation based on experience.
