Job summary

Jobot is seeking a General Liability Defense Associate Attorney to join a growing litigation platform in a hybrid arrangement across multiple Southeast locations, including Charlotte, NC. The base salary ranges from $100,000 to $165,000 per year, with an 1,800-hour billable target and competitive benefits.

This role focuses on civil-defense matters for insurers, employers, and other institutional clients, offering meaningful case ownership and collaboration with a strong team of insured-defense

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school is required.
• Active bar admission in the applicable state.
• Prior litigation experience preferred.
• Insurance defense or general liability experience strongly preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage an active civil-litigation caseload.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances.
• Review medical records, damages materials, and expert reports.
• Develop defense strategy alongside partners and clients.
• Communicate directly with carriers and insured clients.
• Assist with trial preparation and take on increasing levels of case ownership.
