Job summary

Protouch Staffing seeks a motivated General Liability Defense Attorney to join an insurance defense practice in Illinois. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of recent Illinois insurance defense experience, with tort litigation exposure and familiar billing requirements.

Hybrid work and licensure in IL (Indiana/Wisconsin a plus) are preferred for this role. The attorney will manage a diverse caseload, develop case strategies, and build relationships with clients and carriers while

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Illinois insurance defense experience.
• Illinois bar admission required.
• Indiana or Wisconsin bar admission is a plus.
• Experience handling General Liability and tort litigation.
• Ability to meet an 1,850-hour annual billable requirement.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of Illinois insurance defense and General Liability matters.
• Represent clients in a broad range of tort litigation matters.
• Manage cases through pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Develop case strategies and provide legal advice to clients and insurance carriers.
• Communicate regularly with clients, claims professionals, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other litigation proceedings.
• Maintain accurate and timely billing in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and pursue business development.
