Job summary

Jonus Group is seeking a dedicated General Liability Claims Representative (Property Damage) to manage a portfolio of low to moderately complex GL claims, including property damage, bodily injury, and construction-related matters.

The role is fully remote, offering flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to a growing organization. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of commercial liability claims experience and a Florida/Texas public adjuster license or the ability to obtain licenses.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of adjusting commercial liability claims.
• Florida and/or Texas public adjuster license (or ability to obtain licensing).
• Bachelor's degree preferred; HS diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve low to moderately complex general liability claims (property damage, bodily injury, construction).
• Analyze and interpret commercial policy language to determine coverage and communicate decisions in writing.
• Evaluate damages, establish reserves, and escalate cases with exposure above authority.
• Negotiate fair settlements in good faith.
• Manage litigated claim files with defense counsel to bring cases to resolution.
• Retain experts and vendors to achieve optimal outcomes while controlling expenses.
• Maintain accurate, paperless documentation of claims.
• Communicate claim developments to internal departments and track trends.
• Demonstrate understanding of reserving requirements and maintain reserves on files.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial lines products, policy language, and effective claims handling practices. Compensation Package

• Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 per year + bonus opportunities

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve low to moderately complex general liability claims, including property damage, bodily injury, and construction-related claims.
• Analyze and interpret commercial policy language to determine coverage and communicate decisions effectively through written correspondence, including reservation of rights and denial letters.
• Evaluate damages, establish reserves, and **escalate** cases with potential exposure above authority levels.
• Negotiate fair and accurate claim settlements in good faith.
• Manage litigated claim files, collaborating with defense counsel to execute appropriate plans of action and bring cases to resolution.
• Retain experts and vendors as needed to achieve optimal claim outcomes while controlling expenses.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in a paperless claims system.
• Communicate with internal departments regarding claim developments and trends.
• Demonstrate an understanding of reserving requirements and philosophies, maintaining appropriate reserves on all assigned files.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in adjusting commercial liability claims, with a proven track record of increasing responsibility and excellent customer service.
• Licenses: Must hold a public adjuster license in Florida and/or Texas, with the ability to obtain additional licenses as needed.
• Education: College degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Skills:
  • Strong understanding of commercial lines products, policy language, exclusions, and ISO forms.
  • Proficiency in claims handling and litigation management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet quality and quantity production goals.
