BCG Attorney Search is seeking an experienced General Liability Attorney for our Richmond, VA office. The attorney will independently manage a civil defense caseload and represent clients in state and federal courts, arbitration, and mediations.

You will conduct legal research, draft filings, take and defend depositions, and develop case strategy in coordination with clients and defense teams. A strong license and JD from an accredited law school are required, with a commitment to growth and

• Civil litigation defense experience preferred.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of general liability defense matters from intake through resolution.
• Represent clients in state and federal courts, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and draft litigation documents.
• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Develop and execute case strategy in coordination with clients and defense teams.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and outcomes.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant statutes and procedural rules.
• Participate in business development and networking efforts.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in good standing in the relevant state(s).
• Prior experience in civil litigation defense; general liability experience preferred.
• Demonstrated litigation skills, including motion practice and trial experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent communication and client management skills.
