Job summary

Jefferson Wells, a division of ManpowerGroup, seeks a General Ledger Accountant to join the finance team on a contract basis in Ashburn, VA. The role focuses on month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations and inventory-related accounting within a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in accounting, 3+ years of experience, strong US GAAP knowledge, expert Excel skills, and experience with SAP, Oracle or NetSuite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments per GAAP.
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations across entities.
• Support inventory accounting, including COGS analysis and cycle counts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and operations to report production costs and inventory levels.
• Assist in financial audits by providing documentation and support.
• Contribute to process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
