Job summary

Jefferson Wells, a division of ManpowerGroup, is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join the finance team in a contract role. The ideal candidate will manage month‑end close, post journal entries, and perform reconciliations in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements include a bachelor's degree in accounting/finance and 3+ years of experience with US GAAP, inventory costing, and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite). The position offers hybrid onsite work and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Manage month-end and year-end close processes, meeting deadlines.
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments per GAAP.
Perform GL account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Handle intercompany transactions across multiple entities.
Support inventory accounting, including COGS analysis and cycle counts.
Collaborate with manufacturing and operations to report production costs and inventory levels.
Assist in financial audits with necessary documentation and support.
Contribute to process improvements and maintain internal controls.
