Job summary

Cascades is hiring General Labourers in Piscataway, NJ. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and a strong work ethic on the plant floor. An Interview Day on November 4th will accelerate the process, with same-day interviews and offers where possible.

You’ll assist with producing, moving, and labeling goods; maintain a clean, safe workspace; and participate in safety training and continuous improvement activities. English communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, or production is a plus.
• Forklift certification is a plus or willingness to become certified.
• Clear English communication and strong teamwork are expected.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and read basic documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing, handling, and moving finished goods.
• Verify product counts, labels, and identification tags when required.
• Help load and unload materials and finished products.
• Maintain an efficient workflow with team members.
• Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement activities.
• Follow safety policies and wear required PPE.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Support production activities and assist with machine setup and changeovers.
• Remove scrap and excess materials from production areas.

What you’ll do

As a General Labourer you’ll be at the heart of operations - right on the floor where materials take shape.

• Assist with preparing, handling, and moving finished goods.
• Verify product counts, labels, and identification tags when required.
• Help load and unload materials and finished products.
• Work closely with team members to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement activities.
• Complete other duties assigned by supervisors or management.
• Work safely at all times and follow company safety policies and procedures.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Support production activities and assist with machine setup and changeovers when needed.
• Remove scrap, waste, and excess materials from production areas.

Your strengths as a General Labourer

You are a natural fit for this role if:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, logistics, or production experience preferred.
• Forklift certification is an asset or willingness to become certified.
• Ability to clearly communicate in English.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to read labels, tags, and basic documentation.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around industrial equipment and moving machinery.
