Job summary

Cascades is hiring a General Laborer in Piscataway, NJ. This role focuses on hands-on production tasks, material handling, and ensuring safety on the floor. The position involves standing on the job, operating around equipment, and working with a team to maintain an efficient flow.

You’ll participate in safety meetings, assist with machine setup, and help move finished goods while adhering to quality standards.

What you’ll do

As aGeneral Labor, you’ll be at the heart of operations - right on the floor where materials take shape.
Your day-to-day:

Work safely at all times and follow company safety policies and procedures.

Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Support production activities and assist with machine setup and changeovers when needed.

Remove scrap, waste, and excess materials from production areas.

Assist with preparing, handling, and moving finished goods.

Verify product counts, labels, and identification tags when required.

Help load and unload materials and finished products.

Work closely with team members to maintain an efficient workflow.

Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement activities.

Complete other duties assigned by supervisors or management.

Your strengths as a General Labor

You are a natural fit for this role if:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, logistics, or production experience preferred.

Forklift certification is an asset or willingness to become certified.

Ability to clearly communicate in English.

Good teamwork and communication skills.

Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.

Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to read labels, tags, and basic documentation.

Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work around industrial equipment and moving machinery.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying noise and temperature levels.
