Job summary

Nature Fresh Farms is seeking a General Labour in the Production Department at our Delta, OH facility. This full-time, permanent role involves grading, sorting, packaging, labeling, cleaning and maintaining the production line.

Candidates should be able to stand for extended periods, follow supervisor instructions, and contribute to a safe, efficient workplace while aligning with our core values and mission.

Responsibilities

• Grading, sorting, packaging and clipping produce per customer specs.
• Remove defective products from the sorting line and place on conveyor to disposal.
• Check weighing of boxes to ensure correct weight.
• Place labels on bags/packages and ensure boxes are stacked neatly.
• Work with various packaging types (plastic or cardboard).
• Clean and sanitize production line before and after use; follow supervisor instructions.

We are currently looking to fill a Full-Time, permanent position for aGeneral labour in our Production Department at ourDelta, OH facility.

What You’ll Do (Job Specific Tasks):

• Grading, sorting, packaging and clipping the produce as per customer specifications. This entails checking the size, weight/count, color/condition and packaging of each fruit or box that leaves our facility
• Any defective products found during the sorting process are removed and placed on the conveyor belt that leads to the garbage
• Check weighing the boxes to ensure the correct weight by adding or taking away produce
• Placing labels on bags/packages and lastly ensuring the boxes are straight when stacked
• As a packer, you may come across various types of packaging. They may be plastic or cardboard
• Cleaning and sanitizing of the production line using cleaning solutions and hand tools before and after each use. Each employee is responsible for cleaning their own areas and will be trained by their supervisor on how to do so properly
• During the off season, general labor staff assist in the greenhouse. This may include assisting with crop removal and cleaning up. The supervisors will direct the staff as needed and any jobs
• Planting and establishing new crops
• Applying clips and support to plants
• Deleafing and picking when required
• Observing plants and fruit for any pests or diseases if required
