Job Description:

Perform general labor duties, including serving as a designated spotter for trucks and equipment on an asphalt paving lay-down crew or grading crew.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform various unskilled tasks related to asphalt paving and grading, such as shoveling asphalt, stone, or dirt.
• Use tools such as shovels, rakes, lutes, brooms, picks, hammers, saws, pneumatic hammers, drills, tampers, and concrete saws.
• Operate a farm-type tractor with a power broom attachment if required.
• Perform duties as a designated spotter, with training provided.

Minimum Qualifications & Training:

• At least one year of experience; training available for the right candidate.
• Valid NC Driver’s License encouraged.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks.
• Ability to follow precise instructions and adhere to safety rules and policies.
• Maintain good attendance and safety records.
• Willingness to work weekends and some nights.

Tasks Essential to Job Functions:

• Physical motions include standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, and squatting.
• Regularly lift over 25 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Work may involve standing or walking for 12 to 15 hours per day.
• Exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
• Transportation to and from work is required; driving company vehicles must meet company driver standards.
