Location Description

Our plant, located in Lansing, IL, pasteurizes raw eggs to remove harmful bacteria for a safer product to the foodservice industry.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs rotation of all general production and labor duties in the department. This position is responsible for inspecting product and packaging to ensure correct packaging, counts, and labels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect and check the quality of eggs, removing broken eggs.
• Place proper labels on boxes.
• Understand dates, expiration, and item numbers.
• Ensure bags and pails are properly sealed and clean.
• Stack flats of CHEX product onto the proper pallet.
• Supply material to Top Lidder machine.
• Load material into case erector.
• Help keep the production area clean.
• Follow proper SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality. Report any conditions that may affect food safety, quality, or safety.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Less than high school education.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer touch screens to start and stop lines.
• Must obtain and maintain a company pallet jack license; experience with pallet jacks preferred.
• Ability to read simple words and recognize similarities and differences in words and numbers; ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.
• Capable of applying common sense to carry out instructions.
• Maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work effectively with others.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs safely.
• Work independently or in a team.
• Self-motivated, willing to ask questions and seek guidance.
• Responsible behavior at work.
• Open to change.
• Work in cold, wet, noisy, dusty, and humid environments.
• Work around cleaning solutions.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Stand most of the shift, ascend/descend stairs, bend, stoop, crouch, reach.

The pay range for this position is $16.30 to $18.10 per hour.
