Job summary

External SA Recycling is seeking a general labor associate to support unloading, material handling, packaging, and equipment maintenance at our Mobile facility. You will work with recycling equipment and participate in yard traffic control and housekeeping to maintain a safe, efficient workplace.

The role requires basic math, effective communication, and the ability to follow directions while maintaining high safety standards; bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; foreign education acceptable.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unload pallets, boxes, and bundles.
• Handle and sort materials; push, pull, pick, lift, carry, and fill hoppers/boxes/belts.
• Unpack boxes using box cutters and separate plastics and packaging materials.
• Disassemble small equipment; cut wires; remove bolts and parts.
• Operate recycling equipment (metal shears, band saw, wire strippers).
• Direct yard vehicle traffic.
• Perform light facility maintenance and housekeeping.
• Assist machinery repair and parts installation as needed.
• Keep work areas neat and debris-free.
• Dispose of waste materials properly and conduct routine cleanup.
