Job summary

Sa-Recycling is hiring for a hands-on position focused on material handling, sorting, and basic maintenance in a recycling facility. The role involves unpacking, disassembly, and operating equipment while maintaining safe, clean workspaces.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, ability to pass a drug test and background check, and willingness to learn metal sorting and PPE procedures. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, with strong teamwork essential.

Responsibilities

• Handle materials by sorting, lifting, carrying, and filling hoppers and conveyors.
• Unpack boxes and separate plastics and packaging materials; cut and prepare items as needed.
• Disassemble small equipment and remove bolts and components for maintenance.
• Operate/refer to recycling equipment such as metal shears, band saws, and wire strippers.
• Direct yard vehicle traffic and maintain orderly, safe work areas.
• Perform light facility maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
• Assist with routine maintenance by selecting and installing parts and using tools.
• Maintain clean, organized workspaces and ensure safety and hygiene.
