Job summary

Green Bay Packaging Inc. is seeking a Production Utility Worker at the Baltimore Division in Hunt Valley, MD. You will assist operators, help with routine machine setups, and perform quality checks while maintaining safety and cleanliness on the shop floor.

The role requires reading specifications, basic shop math, and the ability to work overtime. Prior corrugated industry experience is preferred, with opportunities to cross-train in various operator roles.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in corrugated industry preferred.
  • 6 months’ experience as a Press Department First Helper preferred.
  • 6 months’ experience in the Press and Finishing Department preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow specs; able to read a tape measure.

Responsibilities

  • Assist operators in processing corrugated sheets per specs and prepare product.
  • Assist with routine machine setups and quality checks with measurements.
  • Read factory orders and perform basic shop math and measurements.
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping; follow safety policies.
  • Load, unload or stack containers/materials as needed.
  • Overtime may be required; perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Description

Position Overview

This position requires a self-motivated individual willing to work safely in a team-based system. As a Production Utility Worker, you will perform cleanup duties around the facility to ensure a safe work environment for all employees, and cross train in various machine operator roles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. A desire for continuous improvement and quality workmanship are required to meet our customers increasing demands.


Responsibilities

Assists operators in processing corrugated sheets according to written specifications/diagrams and prepares product for the next operationResponsible for assisting with routine machine set-ups, quality checks (including proper measurements) and should recognize potential problems with the product.Following safety policies and proceduresReading factory ordersUtilizing basic shop math such as accurately reading tape measures, gauges and other testing equipment.Accurately completing quality and checks to ensure specific directions are followed.The ability to practice great housekeepingCandidates must have the ability to work overtime as needed.Load, unload or stack containers/materials and productOther duties assigned by Supervisor


Qualifications
