Job summary

Luttrell Staffing Group is hiring a General Laborer / Lumber Material Handler in Greeneville, TN to join our production team. This full-time role offers $16/hour, weekly pay, and potential for temp-to-hire based on performance.

You will safely move, stack, label, and prepare lumber materials, read measurements, use a tape measure and moisture meter, and work in an industrial environment with wood dust and varying temperatures. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; manufacturing or lumber industry experience preferred.
• Basic math and ability to read measurements, counts, and production information.
• Ability to read a tape measure and moisture meter accurately.
• Ability to identify lumber size, grade, and overall material quality.
• Ability to follow specific instructions and work under direct supervision.
• Experience using hand tools and other production equipment as needed.
• Ability to stack, bundle, and handle materials properly and safely.
• Willingness to work in an industrial environment with wood dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Use PPE as required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safely move, stack, bundle, band, and secure lumber products according to company procedures and customer requirements.
• Verify lumber materials meet quality standards, correct quantities, and customer specifications.
• Label, tag, and prepare materials before and after production or treatment.
• Use staple guns and other equipment safely, including basic troubleshooting as needed.
• Apply corner protectors, loading sticks, straps, and other materials to secure finished bundles.
• Record production information, maintain tag inventory, and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Assist with moving materials and loading or unloading carts as needed.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe while following all company and safety guidelines.
• Follow all policies and safety procedures in place.
• Completes any other related tasks as needed.
