Job summary

Barnhill Contracting Company is hiring for a general labor role on asphalt paving lay-down or grading crews. You will perform unskilled tasks, assist with material handling, and support safety practices on-site.

The position requires flexibility to work weekends and some nights, with training provided for spotter duties and operating basic equipment. Valid NC driver’s license preferred and safety-minded candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in related work or equivalent (will train the right candidate).
• Valid NC driver’s license.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks.
• Ability to follow precise instructions and safety rules and policies.
• Good attendance and safety record.
• Availability to work weekends and occasional nights.

• Use tools such as shovel, rake, lute, broom, pick, hammer, saw, pneumatic hammer, drill, tamp, and concrete saw.

Essential Job Functions

• Commute to and from work; if required to drive a company vehicle, meet company driver qualification standards.
