Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a general laborer to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer and company standards. The role involves moving, stacking, labeling, tagging, and securing lumber, plus using staple guns and basic troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
  • No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Move and secure lumber products as instructed.
  • Stack finished products per bundle sizes or customer requirements.
  • Label material by type, size and count.
  • Apply tags before/after treating/production.
  • Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Band, bundle and secure material with corner protectors and loading sticks.
  • Follow stacking instructions per policy and customer requirements.
  • Ensure correct quantities and labeling before leaving area.
  • Maintain inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Record production on production sheets.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist other areas by moving material, loading/unloading carts.
  • Participate in safety and CI programs and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Summary

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
  • Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
  • Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
  • Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
  • Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
  • Records production on production sheets
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
  • Performs other duties as required

Hourly Pay

Starting $14.50 *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living
