Job summary

UFP Industries is looking for a General Laborer to begin a manufacturing career with hands-on training and exposure to production processes. You will learn fundamentals of production, quality, safety, and process operations, with opportunities to advance to extrusion operating and Process Technician roles.

The role emphasizes teamwork, learning, and reliability, with a clear pathway to higher-skilled positions as you develop skills and demonstrate strong performance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • No prior manufacturing experience required.
  • We are willing to train motivated individuals.
  • Manufacturing, production, or lumber industry experience is a plus.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Safely move, handle, and secure composite lumber products and materials.
  • Stack finished products according to customer specifications and bundle requirements.
  • Label materials accurately by type, size, and quantity.
  • Apply identification tags before and after production processes.
  • Operate and troubleshoot basic equipment, including staple guns and material handling tools.
  • Band, bundle, and secure finished products for shipment.
  • Follow established procedures to ensure product quality and customer requirements are met.
  • Verify materials are properly labeled, bundled, and prepared before leaving the work area.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervision.
  • Complete production documentation and production reports accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assist in other production areas, including loading and unloading material carts and moving materials throughout the facility.
  • Participate in safety programs, continuous improvement initiatives, and team meetings.
  • Support operational excellence through teamwork, flexibility, and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

As a General Laborer, you will play an important role in safely handling composite lumber products while learning the fundamentals of production, quality, safety, and process operations. Shift Schedule


  • 12-hour rotating shift (2-3-2 schedule)

  • 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

  • Alternating weekends


Key Responsibilities
