Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a General Labor team member to safely handle lumber products, verify materials meet customer requirements, and support production with accurate labeling, stacking, and material movement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
  • Forklift experience preferred but not required.
  • No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
  • Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
  • Labels material based on type, size, and count.
  • Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment.
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
  • Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements.
  • Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Records production on production sheets.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts.
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Compensation & Benefit Information

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $17.00- $19.00 hourly dependent on experience*

*pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay (appropriate item below would be inserted based on the job): 1. For sales positions: The percentage of incentive compensation that may be earned varies based on the customer account classification and is calculated based on collected gross profit. 2. For salaried bonus positions: Annual performance bonus opportunity based on Company and specific business unit ROI and PBOP achievement criteria and individual job responsibility and performance. 3. For hourly positions with incentive pay: Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, and trip rate bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
