Job summary

Virgin Islands Water Authority is seeking a Laborer to perform a variety of manual labor tasks under general supervision. The role requires overtime on short notice during emergencies and busy periods, with routine tasks carried out using basic construction tools.

Responsibilities include digging, cleaning, brush-cutting around tanks, loading garbage, painting, and general maintenance of buildings and equipment. A high school diploma and two years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of manual task experience.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to plan work and maintain relationships with coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Uses pickaxe, shovel, and other construction equipment to dig and clean assigned areas.
• Cuts brush around tanks and other areas; loads garbage for dump.
• Paints areas as required; sweeps, washes, cleans and paints buildings and equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
