Job summary

Silgan Containers in Saint Joseph, Missouri is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Operator to support machine operation and palletizing tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will feed materials into semi-automatic equipment, stack finished products on pallets, and perform routine cleanup and part sorting as needed.

Training is provided to become certified Forklift Driver, Palletizer, and Packaging Operator, with opportunities to read blueprints and manuals and learn additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and measurements.
• Strong English speaking and writing skills.
• Experience using computers, copiers, calculators, scanners, and printers.

Responsibilities

• Feed materials into and operate semi-automatic equipment.
• Stack finished product on pallets using palletizer.
• Assist with cleanup and part sorting as needed.
• Train to become certified Forklift Driver, Palletizer, and Packaging Operator.
• Read blueprints and drawings, handbook specifications, equipment manuals, part lists, etc.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Experience/Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to kneel, stoop, crawl, squat, and stand for extended periods while running machinery up to 12 hours
• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds
