Job summary

Aerotek in Rochester, NY is hiring a General Laborer to build and assemble PODs, metal workstations, and inventory shelving in a loud, fast-paced warehouse. You will perform repetitive heavy lifting and use hand and power tools to meet daily production targets.

This contract role offers a 7am–3:30pm shift with onsite work, safety-focused environment, and comprehensive benefits. Pay ranges from $22.00 to $22.00 per hour, with additional eligibility for benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in general labor, construction, production, or carpentry.
• Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting up to 50 pounds and to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a warehouse.
• Proficiency reading and using a tape measure accurately.
• Experience with a variety of hand tools (hammers, rivet guns, pallet jacks).
• Experience using power tools safely in construction/production.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a loud, fast-paced environment.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety guidelines.

Job Description

The General Laborer builds and assembles PODs that hold inventory on a robotics floor, working in a loud, fast-paced, and team-oriented warehouse environment. This role involves repetitive heavy lifting, use of hand and power tools, and maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy workspace in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble PODs, metal workstations, and inventory shelving units on the robotics floor according to specifications and production targets.
• Work as part of a team to complete a designated number of PODs within specific timeframes while maintaining quality standards.
• Perform repetitive physical tasks including lifting, pulling, pushing, and positioning materials and equipment.
• Use hand tools such as hammers, rivet guns, tape measures, and pallet jacks safely and effectively during assembly work.
• Operate power tools as required for construction and production tasks, following all safety guidelines.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work area and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Follow instructions, blueprints, or measurements to ensure accurate construction and assembly.
• Monitor materials and components during assembly to identify and report any defects or issues.
• Support general labor and production activities as needed to meet daily operational goals.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and adjust to changing work demands in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills

• Experience in general labor, construction, production, or carpentry, preferably in commercial construction and assembly environments.
• Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting of up to approximately 50 pounds and to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time in a warehouse environment.
• Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure accurately.
• Experience working with a variety of hand tools, including hammers, rivet guns, and pallet jacks.
• Experience using power tools safely and effectively in a construction or production setting.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, loud environment.
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to following safety procedures and guidelines.

PAY- $23/hr
