Job summary

MAAC Machinery in Carol Stream, IL, is seeking motivated helpers to start in fabrication and become skilled welders, machinists, plumbers, or electricians. Initial months focus on cutting and assembling aluminum or steel, paint prep, material handling, and basic electrical wiring support.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/32 inch.
  • Experience with Band Saws is required.
  • Experience with a sit-down Forklift and overhead Crane.
  • Experience with Welders, Shears, Drill Presses, and Grinders is a plus.
  • Assembly and wiring of components.

Responsibilities

  • Saw work - cutting steel tubes, angles, channels, flat bars per blueprint cut lists.
  • Drilling, milling, tapping, and mechanical assembly of components.
  • Assisting with disassembly of machinery components.
  • Prepping for painting of machine components.
  • Assisting welders on fabrication projects.
  • Assisting in wiring ovens, fans, and related electrical components.
  • Some material handling and general cleaning duties.

Job description

Rate of Pay:
  • $19.00 to $20.00 per hour (paid weekly).
Overtime Rate:
  • $28.50 to $30.00 per hour.
1st Shift Schedule:
  • Monday thru Friday; 7:00am to 3:30pm.
  • Overtime always available; paid breaks.
JOB SUMMARY:

If you have aspirations of becoming a fabricator, welder, machinist, plumber, or electrician this is a great place to start or advance your career. The beginning months typically consist of cutting and assembling aluminum or steel, paint preparation, material handling, or assisting in electrical wiring. As you gain some experience to grow into a more advanced role you will be trained and partnered up with personnel in the desired department.

  • Saw work - cutting steel tubes, angles, channels, flat bars per blueprint cut lists.
  • Drilling, milling, tapping, and mechanical assembly of components.
  • Assisting with the dis-assembly of machinery components.
  • Prepping for the painting of machine components.
  • Assisting welders on fabrication projects.
  • Assisting in the wiring of ovens, fans, and related electrical components.
  • Some material handling and general cleaning duties.
