Job summary

Wisconsin Steel & Tube Corporation is seeking a General Laborer to manage materials throughout the plant. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and skills in attention to detail and effective communication.

Job description

To those who enjoy working with their hands, have great attention to detail, and can work collaboratively with others, look no further! We are looking for a General Laborer that will serve as support in managing materials throughout the plant.

  • A work/life balance! All of our shifts allow for ample time off. With our 1st and 2nd shifts working 4-10’s and our weekend shift working 3-12’s (but getting paid for 40 hours).
  • Some extra $. Pay for this position is based on experience PLUS you will receive a $2 hourly shift differential if you work 2nd or weekend shift.

What you will do:

Identify, sort, and separate parts by hand, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Deburr parts by hand or machine, according to company specifications and procedures. Package parts according to shipping instructions.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documentation, etc. Check work area for hazards.
  • Clean up dirt and debris in work area both during and after the scheduled shift.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Requirements

What knowledge/experience we are looking for:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and oral communication.
Physical Demands

  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
Work Environment

The employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. He/she is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
