Job summary

Austin Wood Recycling is hiring a General Laborer to support yard production and grinding operations. You will perform general clean‑up duties and operate equipment safely, with training provided as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliable attendance in a fast‑paced environment. We value flexibility to work extended hours, outdoor work in varying weather, and the ability to lift heavy materials.

Qualifications

• Ability to work +/- 60 hours per week to include Saturdays with overtime (hours not guaranteed).
• Skidsteer, tractor and mower experience preferred.
• Bilingual is preferred.
• Must pass a drug screen.
• Must be able to lift up to 70lbs frequently and involving repetitive motion.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk for short periods.
• Must be able to bend and stoop throughout the workday (lifting debris, using shovels, etc.).
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs and ladders.
• Must be able to work in outdoor environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust and noise.
• Must be able to travel to different job locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform general clean‑up duties within the yard production area and/or grinding field sites.
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment such as skid steers, tractors, lawn mowers, and weed‑eaters (training provided if needed)
• Conduct basic equipment inspections, and report maintenance needs
• Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and processes related to general clean‑up duties within the production and job‑site area.
• Safety gear is required and expected to be always worn.
• Assume other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by management.

About The Position

We are looking for a General Laborer to join our growing team. This position reports to the Construction Services Supervisor or Manager. General Laborers are assigned to “general clean-up” duties within the production and grinding operations.

We expect general laborers to perform general clean‑up tasks in a safe and professional manner and to maintain a professional demeaner when engaging with customers and coworkers.

A successful candidate for this position will ensure that work is completed safely, on schedule and as directed.
