Job summary

Peoplelink Staffing, partnering with a furniture manufacturer in Denton, NC, is seeking General Laborers for a temp-to-hire role. The position pays $13–$13.50 per hour plus a $100 bonus and offers a 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Mon-Thurs with overtime on Fridays when needed.

Qualified candidates will read and interpret work orders, assemble bedding components, and work at various stations on the production line. Safety and quality are emphasized throughout the responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Read production work orders and instructions; assemble parts accordingly.
  • Position parts for correct fit and check materials before assembling.
  • Inspect parts before and after assembly; mount and fasten components securely.
  • Handle parts and finished items; move them to racks or bins.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects and adapt to line changes.

Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a prominent Furniture Manufacturer firm in the Denton, NC area, is seeking General Laborers to join their team! Temp to Hire position.

General Laborer Job Summary
  • Pay: $13-$13.50/hr + $100 bonus (equivalent toup to$15.50-$16/hr an hour based on a 40 hour week)
  • Shift Available:
    • 1st Shift: 6a-4:30p Mon-Thurs. (OT on Fri when needed)

Ability to assemble various types of bedding components at different workstations as production needs.

Essential Duties
  • Reads production work orders and sample assemblies or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Positions parts according to units being assembled and insure correct fit to each other.
  • Check works to ensure materials are correct before assembling and proper amount of material that goes in each assembly process.
  • Place completed items in portable racks or bins.
  • Inspect all parts before and after assembling.
  • Mounts and fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners. Attaches hardware to assemblies.
  • Works at different workstations as production needs require such, Work on production line where task vary as different model of same article moves along line.
  • Active participation in Continuous Improvement Projects.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education or Experience

1year of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read a limited number of two-and -three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to read a tape measure, add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement.

Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, use hand to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud depending on the area you are working in.
