Job Description
This is a full-time (40+ hours) position working rotating shift. Pixelle Specialty Solutions, Chillicothe Mill, is accepting applications for production positions (i.e., paper machines, shipping, roll wrap, coating, stock preparation, sheeters, woodyard, pulp mill). The starting pay during the 90-day probationary period is $18.40/hour. Upon successful completion of probation and department assignment, pay increases to a minimum of $24.12/hour, plus shift differential. The mill operates 24/7, so candidates must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, nights, overtime, weekends, and holidays. Candidates should be capable of moving into more senior operations roles within the mill.

Role and Responsibilities

• Respect and follow Pixelle Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies as an individual and as part of the operations team.
• Learn various operational tasks through on-the-job training and assisting current operators.
• Bring raw materials to the machine, including cores, skids, blocks, and other supplies necessary for operations.
• Move products around the mill using hand trucks, clamp trucks, and overhead cranes.
• Work in hot areas and around high-speed equipment.
• Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Climb stairs and ladders.
• Perform walking, reaching, turning, and twisting motions.
• Assist with making splices and threading winders.
• Learn to perform jobs safely and efficiently.
• Monitor product quality at every stage.
• Assist with moving, weighing, taping, and labeling products.
• Use computer systems to assist manufacturing processes and understand reports.
• Perform basic math and data entry tasks.
• Participate in cleanup duties during machine breaks or daily routines.
• Assist with mechanical tasks such as rope installation and lubrication.
• Support rewinding, sheeting, and wrapping operations.
• Clean up waste material and recycle it back into the process.
• Contribute to maintaining safe and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• At least 1 year of related experience in production or manufacturing preferred.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
