Job description

Overview

Hourly manufacturing position. General Laborer - Full-Time. Starting Wage: $22/hr.

Schedule: 1st Shift (5am-1pm), 2nd Shift (1pm-9pm), 3rd Shift (9pm-5am). Must be available for overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances. Handle and move objects using hands and arms, install, position, and move materials; perform repetitive motions and general physical activities such as lifting, balancing, walking, bending, and twisting.
  • Start machines or equipment to begin production processes; operate machinery used in production or assist machine operators. Prepare raw materials for processing and dump materials into machine hoppers prior to mixing. Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually or with lifts.
  • Transfer finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas using hand trucks or powered lift equipment.
  • Conduct and document quality checks within required structures (e.g., weight control records, code date check sheets). Record information such as products tested, meter readings, and dates/times of production; read gauges or charts and record data.
  • Remove products, machine attachments, or waste from machines. Clean and lubricate equipment; wash work areas, machines, equipment, vehicles, or products.
  • Break up defective products for reprocessing. Perform peeling rework and run salvage processes as needed during shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader.
  • Follow FSQ requirements such as GMPs and other daily/job-specific duties to support QRMP. Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards while following safety policies and procedures (wearing protective equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats).
  • Communicate with Supervisors and Peers by providing information by telephone, in writing, or in person.
  • Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify causes of errors or defects. Analyze information and evaluate results to determine the best solution.
  • Operate vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
  • Develop constructive working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed indoors around industrial equipment in varying temperatures. Pace is determined by equipment speed. Some extended hours on each shift and weekends/holidays may be required.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and twist for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls as required to perform job duties safely and efficiently.
