Job summary

UFP Industries in Georgia, Moultrie area seeks a general laborer to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer requirements and company expectations.

You will move, stack, label, and package lumber, operate basic tools, and participate in safety and production processes. Competitive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stack finished products to meet bundle sizes or customer requirements.
• Label material by type, size, and count.
• Apply tags to material before or after treatment/production.
• Operate a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band and secure material, attach corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow stacking instructions per policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and materials are strapped and labeled.
• Maintain inventory of tags and report discrepancies.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Assist with other areas by moving materials and unloading carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs.
• Perform other duties as required.

General labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products. Verifies material meets customer requirements and company expectations.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
• Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
• Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
• Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
• Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
• Records production on production sheets
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications
