Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking an entry-level Team Member for the Bacon Slice department. Duties include feeding pork bellies into the slicer, stacking and packaging sliced bacon, and assisting sanitation to keep facilities clean and compliant with USDA standards.

Team members rotate between departments per production needs and must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. The role requires certification in select equipment and adherence to Tyson and customer regulations.

Job Details

To perform the daily tasks and responsibilities of a bacon slice entry level Team Member to include various sanitation duties.

Job Description

Duties will include Bacon Slice department responsibilities and will often assist the Sanitation department. Duties will include, but not limited to feeding pork bellies into the slicer and stacking boxes on pallets, packaging sliced bacon into boxes or packages in a bulk or vacuum package. When assisting Sanitation - Keep all of the offices on the plant grounds cleaned and sanitized; wash hooks and combs and pallets for the processing department; keep the bacon slice lines cleaned by picking up trash and sweeping the floors; keep the freezer room organized and sanitized; clean the floors, pickup pieces off the floors, keep Derind sanitized; keep the trash/cardboard combos emptied out and supply production with empty combos; keep cotton gloves washed and supplied; clean restrooms; wash down machines and equipment as needed; hang plastic where needed. Product and tasks must meet all USDA, Tyson and customer regulations and specifications. Team member will rotate jobs according to department schedule. Pork bellies weigh from 10 to 22 lbs. Finished boxed product will weigh 10 to 35 lbs. Sanitation requires ability to lift upto 70 lbs. Team Members may work in other departments as needed according to production requirements.

Requirements

• Must be willing to become certified in scissor lift, pallet jack, and forklift if needed to.
• Must be willing and able to meet all USDA, Tyson, and customer regulations.
• Must be willing and able to rotate jobs according to department schedule.

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
