Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in the United States is seeking a productie/operator to handle stacking corrugated products, quality checks, and material set-up in a fast-paced plant environment.

The ideal candidate is safety-minded, able to learn manufacturing processes, and willing to work any shift with occasional overtime. Expect physical work, standing up to 12 hours, and operation of various equipment in a non climate-controlled space.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Able to use computer systems and basic software.
• Must read/write/communicate in English.
• Willingness to work any shift and overtime as needed.
• Physical stamina to stand and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Stack corrugated product safely and efficiently.
• Conduct quality checks and ensure product quality.
• Set up materials and maintain workspace cleanliness and organization.
• Operate manufacturing equipment following safety rules.
• Stand for long periods and work in a non climate-controlled environment.

Primary duties include safely performing a wide range of tasks that include stacking corrugated product, conducting quality checks, material set-up, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to working safely, demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a strong desire to learn manufacturing processes and operating complex machinery and have a desire to advance within the company. Candidates for consideration must be able to do the following:

• Work safely and follow Safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to operate various manufacturing equipment, follow specific directions, operate power hand tools, and other duties assigned.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Be able to lift, push, or pull 50lbs., navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel through the entire shift.
• Be willing to work ANY shift.
• Be willing to work Overtime, as it may be required on occasion.
• Work in a non-climate-controlled environment(hot/cold)
• Stand on their feet for up to 12 hours per day.
• Must have basic math and computer skills, be able to read a tape measure, and be able to read/write/communicate in English.
• Ability to adhere to WestRock’s policies and procedures.
