Job summary

Comprehensive Logistics is seeking a General Laborer to join its Kansas City, MO facility. You will perform a variety of warehouse tasks under supervision, read work instructions, scan and count parts, and assist with stocking or kitting as needed.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow directions, and teamwork. Overtime and weekend shifts are possible to meet production needs.

Qualifications

  • Able to lift 70 lbs continuously.
  • Previous warehouse/manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, listen, understand, and follow directions.

  • Scan parts and reports according to work instructions.
  • Read work instructions to sub-assemble automotive components.
  • Count material and parts accurately and scan them.
  • Assist with stocking or kitting when trained.
  • Conduct general audits, counts, builds, repacks, and tags parts.
  • Report issues to team lead, quality technician or supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.

Job description

The General Laborer will be responsible for the following:

  • Performs a variety of tasks under close supervision of the shift supervisor in the operation.
  • Following guidelines based on work instructions, scan guns, and reports.
  • Read work instructions to sub-assemble automotive components/parts.
  • Pays close attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly of components and parts.
  • Pay close attention to accurately scan and count material and parts.
  • Scans parts and places them into tubs according to customer requirements.
  • Some light assembly is required.
  • Use of small, powered hand tools is required.
  • May be trained to assist with stocking or kitting.
  • Performs general audits, counts, builds, repacks, and tags parts.
  • Reports any issues to team lead, quality technician or supervisor.
  • Identify damage and reports shortages or quality deficiencies.
  • Comply with company policies and guidelines.
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly work environment in the facility.
  • Clean workstation to include sweeping, trash pickup and put equipment back in its original place

General Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read, listen, understand, and follow directions and work instructions.
  • Ability to count accurately.
  • Ability and flexibility to work in a variety of roles.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to work full time with extra hours & weekends as required.
  • Must have the ability to use scanning equipment and inventory software.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Must have a high level of motivation and attention to detail.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to lift 70lbs continuously.
  • Hours are the following. Please indicate on the application which shifts you can work. *overtime is worked on a regular basis
    • A Shift
      • Mon-Thur 5:30AM to 5:00PM overtime is worked on Sunday
    • B Shift
      • Tuesday-Friday 5:30 PM to 5:00 AM overtime is worked on Saturday.
    • C Shift
      • Fri-Sat/Sun-Mon Fri/Sat 5:30AM to 5:00PM Sun/Mon 5:30PM to 5:00AM
