Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is hiring a General Labor team member in Burnsville, MN. You will safely handle lumber products, verify material against requirements, and label, bag, and prepare items for shipment.

Typical duties include stacking, tagging, and securing bundles, with attention to accuracy and safety. The role offers hourly pay of $18.00–$19.00, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) match, paid vacation, stock

Qualifications

  • Basic math skills preferred; ability to perform simple calculations accurately.
  • Experience in manufacturing or lumber industry is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in labeling, stacking and inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Move and secure lumber products and materials per instructions.
  • Stack finished products to predetermined bundle sizes and customer requirements.
  • Label material by type, size and count; apply tags before/after treating.
  • Band and strap material; attach corner protectors and loading sticks.
  • Maintain inventory of tags; report discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Keep work area clean and organized; participate in safety programs.
  • Assist with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.

Job SummaryGeneral labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products. Verifies material meets customer requirements and company expectations.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesMoves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructionsStacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirementsLabels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and countApplies individual tags to material before/after treating/productionUses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipmentBands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticksFollows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirementsEnsures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work areaMaintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisorRecords production on production sheetsMaintains a clean and organized work areaAssists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material cartsParticipates in safety, CI and other programs and meetingsPerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma/GED preferred but not requiredNo minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferredWorking knowledge of basic math preferredMust be at least 18 years of ageClick here to watch what a day in the life of a General Labor role looks like.Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $18.00 - $19.00 hour) dependent on experience**pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of livingBonus/Incentive Pay (only include one from the list below based on the job):1.
