Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Facilities Operations Technician V to support reliability, safety, and lifecycle performance of integrated critical-facility systems. This role leads complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and guides upgrades and commissioning across electrical, mechanical, cooling, and controls domains.

Ideal candidates bring extensive mission-critical facilities experience and can mentor technicians while coordinating with vendors and engineering teams to ensure

Qualifications

• Extensive mission-critical facilities experience.
• Advanced expertise in at least one major infrastructure domain.
• Broader understanding of integrated electrical, mechanical, cooling, and controls systems.
• Ability to lead complex technical work and support critical operational decisions.
• Industry credentials such as NFPA 70E and EPA Section 608 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex troubleshooting, incident investigation, and root-cause analysis.
• Improve standards and procedures across electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls, and supporting infrastructure.
• Guide upgrades, retrofits, major maintenance, expansions, and commissioning.
• Improve work documentation, including procedures, drawings, one-lines, settings, and test plans.
• Coordinate vendors, service providers, engineering teams, construction partners, and site operations.
• Review technical documentation and strengthen consistency across sites.
• Mentor technicians and improve team troubleshooting and execution discipline.

Primary responsibilities

• Lead complex troubleshooting, incident investigation, and root-cause analysis
• Improve standards and procedures across electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls, and supporting infrastructure
• Guide upgrades, retrofits, major maintenance, expansions, and commissioning
• Improve work documentation, including procedures, drawings, one-lines, settings, and test plans
• Coordinate vendors, service providers, engineering teams, construction partners, and site operations
• Review technical documentation and strengthen consistency across sites
• Mentor technicians and improve team troubleshooting and execution discipline

Skills and Requirements

Ideal background

• Extensive mission-critical facilities experience
• Advanced expertise in at least one major infrastructure domain
• Broader understanding of integrated electrical, mechanical, cooling, and controls systems
• Ability to lead complex technical work and support critical operational decisions

Preferred qualifications

• Journeyman or Master Electrician, advanced HVAC/mechanical credential, or comparable trade qualification
• NFPA 70E
• EPA Section 608 where applicable
• OEM training in power, HVAC, controls, or building systems
• NICET or similar technical certifications
