Job summary

Insight Global is looking for Critical Facilities Engineers to support one of its Data Center Clients in Sterling, VA. The Facility Engineer on shift is responsible for the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment to support 100% uptime for mission-critical servers.

The role requires Navy nuclear experience and advanced knowledge of high- and low-voltage systems, CRAH/CRAC cooling, UPS and transformers, and safety standards such as NFPA 70E.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in the U.S Navy (Nuclear) in roles such as Nuclear Machinist Mate or Nuclear Electrician.
• Advanced knowledge of 25kV, 120/208 and 277/480V systems including UPS, PDU, transformers.
• Experience with generators, cooling plants, and electrical distribution.
• Familiarity with CRAH/CRAC cooling systems.
• NFPA 70E knowledge and related safety practices.
• Infrared Thermography Level 1 and Refrigeration/CFC certifications.
• CDCTP (Certified Data Center Technical Professional).

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper distribution of power within the facility and to equipment racks.
• Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and prompt repair of equipment, as needed.
• Manage contractors and vendors. Institute and maintain maintenance contracts for equipment.

Skills and Requirements

• 4+ years experience in the U.S Navy (Nuclear) (Nuclear Machinist Mate, Nuclear Electrician, Clear Engineer, Nuclear reactor operator, or Submarine reactor operator)
• Advanced knowledge of medium (25kV) and low (120/208 and 277/480) volt systems including UPS, PDU, transformer, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of generators, coolers/cooling plants, and electrical system
• Advanced knowledge of CRAH/CRAC systems.
• Able to apply basic computer knowledge and experience in order to facilitate the ticket process.
• Military (especially Navy) backgrounds-License facilities operation trade in mechanical, electrical or HVAC in one or more areas
• NFPA 70E knowledge
• Infrared Thermography Level 1
• Refrigeration/CFC certifications
• CDCTP (Certified Data Center Technical Professional)
