Job summary

Ensign College seeks a Student Employee in the General Education Department to assist as a teaching assistant. The role is on campus, 15–19 hours per week, with a starting wage of $14.00 per hour and potential increases of $0.25 each semester based on merit.

You will correct general education homework, provide feedback, and enter grades in Canvas or spreadsheets, while maintaining FERPA compliance and supporting instructors and staff.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled as an Ensign College student taking at least 6 credits.
• Ability to write clear emails and other written communication.
• Communicate effectively, listen, and respond appropriately.
• Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and diligent.
• Build positive relationships with supervisor, peers, faculty, and staff.
• Solve problems and ask for clarification as needed.
• Proficient in Office 365 and Canvas.

Responsibilities

• Correct student homework accurately and in a timely manner.
• Give partial credit and feedback according to rubrics.
• Communicate with instructors regarding grading needs.
• Enter grades into Canvas or a spreadsheet.
• Assist department administration with projects as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow FERPA regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
