Part-time Oral Surgery Assistant
Part-Time Schedule, Mondays and Wednesdays
This role offers a part-time schedule, working Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 AM to 6 PM. You will have a 60-minute unpaid meal break each day, with overtime available during busy seasons, paid at 1.5x the regular rate.

Develop Expertise in Oral Surgery
You will assist surgeons during oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, providing expert chairside assistance during complex treatments such as dental extractions, implant placements, and periodontal surgeries. The role involves managing instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and supporting post-operative patient care.
Requirements for This Role
This position requires two or more years of experience as a dental assistant and Spanish fluency. You should be proficient in basic life support and familiar with Open Dental software, as well as implant and general dentistry practices.
Pay
- $27 - $32 per hour

Expected Annual Salary
If working 8 hours/day, 3 days/week:
- 1st year: $33,696
- 2nd year: $36,000

Shift & Schedule
- Work Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 AM -6 PM
- Breaks: 60-minute meal break (not counted as work hours).
- Overtime: Overtime available during busy seasons and paid at 1.5x the regular hourly rate.
- Holiday Shifts: Occasional holiday shifts, compensated at double time.

Job Description
- Assist surgeons during oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures by anticipating needs, managing instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Support post-operative care by providing instructions to patients and assisting with follow-up scheduling.
- Monitor patient vital signs and assist with patient positioning throughout surgical treatments.
- Sterilize and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before and after procedures.
- Provide expert chairside assistance during complex procedures, including dental extractions, implant placements, and periodontal surgeries.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Sterilize dental instruments and prepare treatment rooms before and after patient appointments.
- Prepare patients for dental procedures by ensuring comfort and explaining what to expect.
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including restorative, cosmetic, and surgical treatments.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed and ensure all images are of diagnostic quality.
- Prepare and mix dental materials such as fillings, impressions, and bonding agents.
