Job summary

SmileOn Dentistry in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a dedicated dental assistant to support dentists in delivering high-quality patient care. You will assist during procedures, prepare patients, and maintain a sterile, organized environment, while handling some administrative tasks.

The role requires 1+ year of experience, CPR/BLS and X-ray certifications are preferred. A flexible schedule with Monday–Friday 9am–6pm is offered, with benefits including paid time off and a Jobly bonus.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of dental assisting experience.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• X-ray/Radiography certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during procedures such as extractions, fillings, and cleanings.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments according to safety guidelines.
• Take and develop dental X-rays as required.
• Explain procedures and position patients for treatment.
• Maintain patient records and document treatments.
• Assist with scheduling, reminders, and follow-ups.

Pay

• $18 - $25 per hour

• Years of Professional Experience: Experienced Dental assistant with 1+ years of practice

Job Description

• Assist dentists during dental procedures, including extractions, fillings, cleanings, and other treatments.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Take and develop dental X-rays as required.
• Prepare patients for treatment by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and positioning them appropriately.
• Maintain patient records and ensure accurate documentation of procedures and treatments.
• Ensure that the dental office is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
• Assist with patient scheduling, reminders, and follow-up appointments.
• Provide post-treatment care instructions to patients.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventative care.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, and processing insurance forms.
