Job summary

AFD Crest Hill is seeking a dental assistant to join our clinical team in Crest Hill. You will provide chairside support, ensure patient comfort, and maintain clean and organized treatment areas.

The role requires at least one year of dental assisting experience and familiarity with Dentrix or similar software. We value clear communication with patients and team members, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to infection control and HIPAA-compliant record keeping.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures and anticipate dentist needs.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments following infection-control protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with HIPAA requirements.
• Assist with polishing and ensure patient comfort during procedures.
• Explain procedures to patients and address questions or concerns.
• Keep the treatment area clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.

Job Qualifications

• Working Experience: At least one (1) year of experience in dental assisting preferred.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Dentrix or other dental software systems is advantageous.
• Effective Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and team members.
• Strong Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships.

Job Responsibilities

• Chairside Assistance: Provide expert support during dental procedures, anticipating the dentist's needs and ensuring patient comfort.
• Infection Control: Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
• Patient Records: Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment details, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Polishing Assistance: Support the dentist during the polishing process to enhance patient comfort and safety.
• Patient Communication: Explain procedures to patients and address any concerns effectively.
• Treatment Environment: Ensure a clean and organized treatment area, restocking supplies and equipment as needed.
