Nscale is seeking an experienced General Construction Manager to serve as the on-site single point of accountability for a large-scale data center build. You will oversee daily construction execution, manage GC and subcontractors, and ensure schedule, quality, and safety across all phases from civil to turnover.

This role requires 8+ years in construction management, data center experience, and proficiency in CPM scheduling, Procore, Bluebeam Revu, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of construction management experience, including data center or mission-critical projects
• Proven ability to manage GC and multi-discipline subcontractor teams
• Strong CPM scheduling, cost control, and contract administration
• Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam Revu, and MS Office
• Ability to read and interpret full construction drawings (civil/structural/architectural/MEP)
• OSHA 30 certification is required

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time, on-site construction management for the data center build
• Interface between GC, project team, design team, and vendors
• Conduct daily site walkthroughs and weekly coordination meetings
• Monitor schedule, identify risks, and drive mitigation actions
• Oversee RFI, submittal, and change order processes with cost/schedule impact reviews
• Enforce contract requirements, quality, and safety at the site
• Supervise the MEP Manager and coordinate with EHS and Cost Managers
• Maintain daily logs, photos, and written reports for the program team
• Lead or participate in weekly Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings
• Track punch lists through turnover and closeout
• Support acceptance and turnover activities with documentation handover

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced General Construction Manager to join Nscale as the primary on-site representative for a large-scale, mission-critical data center construction program. This individual will be the single point of accountability for daily construction execution, contractor management, schedule adherence, and quality oversight across all project phases — from civil/structural through MEP rough-in, commissioning, and turnover. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of hyperscale or enterprise data center construction and can effectively bridge Nscale's strategic priorities with the day-to-day realities of an active construction site.

What You'll be Doing

• Provide full-time, on-site construction management on behalf of Nscale across all active work areas
• Serve as the primary interface between the General Contractor (GC), Nscale's project team, design team, and third-party vendors
• Conduct daily site walkthroughs and morning coordination meetings with the GC, subcontractors, and key stakeholders
• Monitor overall project schedule and proactively identify risks; accelerate delays and drive mitigation strategies
• Oversee the RFI, submittal, and change order processes; review for scope alignment and cost/schedule impact to Nscale
• Enforce contract requirements, quality standards, and safety compliance on behalf of Nscale
• Directly supervise the MEP Manager and coordinate day-to-day on-site with the EHS Manager, Construction Scheduler, and Cost Manager to keep work sequenced and conflict-free
• Maintain accurate daily construction logs, photo documentation, and written reports for the Senior Manager and Nscale program team
• Lead or participate in weekly OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings; prepare and distribute meeting minutes
• Track and manage punch list items through substantial completion and final closeout
• Support Nscale's acceptance and turnover activities, including systems verification and documentation handover

About You

• 8+ years of construction management experience, with at least 3 years on data center, mission-critical, or large-scale industrial projects
• Demonstrated experience managing general contractors and multi-discipline subcontractor teams
• Strong command of construction scheduling (CPM), cost control, and contract administration
• Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to read and interpret full construction document sets including civil, structural, architectural, and MEP drawings
• OSHA 30 certification required
• Valid driver's license; reliable on-site presence required
• Integrity and an ownership mentality — you treat the project as your own, hold yourself accountable, and never misrepresent status, costs, or progress
• A transparent, team-first communicator who surfaces problems early, stays composed under pressure, and follows through on commitments
• Comfortable in an active construction environment with full-time, on-site presence Monday through Friday (weekend availability during critical milestones); site hours begin at 6:30 AM

Nice to Have

• Experience with hyperscale, colocation, or Tier III/IV data center construction
• Familiarity with DCIM systems, raised floor environments, or critical power/cooling infrastructure
• PMP, CCM, or equivalent credential
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Familiarity with MS Project or Primavera P6
