Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Building Maintenance Mechanic responsible for general upkeep of the warehouse and related equipment. The role covers outside sprinkler systems, electrical, plumbing, walls, floor repairs, welding, and PMs on condensers and evaporators.

Responsibilities include reviewing equipment reports, maintaining repair logs, performing PMs, and adhering to safety protocols. Compensation ranges and benefits are noted; schedule is 8:00am-4:30pm.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent preferred; additional mechanic training or trade school degree preferred.
• Minimum of six months previous mechanic experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC preventative maintenance preferred.
• 608 Refrigerant Certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
• Knowledge of equipment repair and operation; able to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment; welding ability; basic mathematical skills; able to read/write; follow orders; able to work with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance to warehouse equipment (electrical, plumbing, walls, carpentry, floor repairs, welding, PMs on condensers/evaporators).
• Review equipment reports submitted by warehouse staff and maintain a repair log per USF policy.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance on equipment and maintain PM logs with proper documentation.
• Comply with safety guidelines (Lock Out/Tag Out, placarding, documentation, safe work environment).
• Maintain and secure battery-charging area and equipment; manage tools and inventory; store securely.
• If authorized, purchase tools and equipment from local vendors to perform duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform necessary repairs and maintenance to warehouse & related equipment (i.e. outside sprinkler system, electrical, plumbing, walls, carpentry, floor repairs, light welding, racking, condensers, evaporators and compressors PMs, etc.) to ensure proper maintenance of the building.

Review any equipment reports submitted by warehouse associates, record actions/repairs taken, and maintains a repair log per USF policy.

Perform PM’s (Preventative Maintenance) on equipment, and maintain PM log with proper documentation, per USF policy.

Comply with all USF and government guidelines regarding safety when working on equipment (i.e. Lock Out/Tag Out, placarding and required documentation, safe work environment, etc.).

Maintain and secure the battery-charging area, batteries and other equipment contained therein.

Responsible for company tools and maintenance equipment used in performance of job duties, including inventory maintenance, safe operation, proper storage, and security of tool area.

If authorized, may purchase tools and other equipment needs from local vendors to perform required duties.

External: Outside vendors

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training: High School education or equivalent preferred; additional mechanic training or trade school degree preferred.

A Minimum Of Six Months Previous Mechanic Experience Preferred.

Knowledge/experience with HVAC preventative maintenance Preferred.

608 Refrigerant Certification Preferred Or Willingness To Obtain Certification.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $29.90 - $33.23.
