Job summary

AAMCO Transmissions, Inc. is seeking a General Automotive Technician in New Jersey to diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle systems, with emphasis on transmission work. You will inspect, identify, and address performance issues, and collaborate with service writers and teammates.

The role requires hands-on diagnostics, tools, and a commitment to ongoing learning. A supportive team environment and daytime hours are provided in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as a General Automotive Technician.
• Valid driver's license.
• Own professional grade tools to service any general repair need.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical diagnostics.
• Knowledge of drivability testing and safe shop practices.

Responsibilities

As aGeneral Automotive Technicianyou will be called upon to service a broad range of vehicle repair issues and for quickly identifying the cause of performance problems.

Position Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems
• Remove and Reinstall Transmission systems.
• Assist other technicians in performing technical activities
• Explain problems discovered during vehicle inspection to service writers and technicians
• Continuously learn new technical information, equipment, tools and repair techniques
• Professionally record findings so that repairs costs are accurately estimated

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 3+ years' experience working as aGeneral Automotive Technician
• Hold a valid driver's license
• Own professional grade tools to service any general repair need
• Experiencetroubleshooting and conducting both mechanical and electrical diagnostics, including drivability testing
• Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment
