Job summary

The General Anesthesiologist will provide anesthesia at WakeMed Raleigh, Cary, and North hospitals, with opportunities for ASC work. The role supports a Care Team Model with medical direction at 4:1 and a mix of ASA 1–4 cases, plus select ASA 5 cases at Raleigh.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or eligibility in anesthesiology.
• NC state medical license required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and administers general and regional anesthetics and pain medication as needed.
• Provides anesthesia maintenance and adjustment before, during, and after procedures.
• Performs labor epidurals and spinals for C-sections when indicated.
• Works closely with surgical teams and directs CRNAs/ASAs.
• Monitors patient status and manages airway and ventilation.
• Supervises anesthesia staff and ensures patient safety.
