Job summary

ECAA - Anesthesia Specialists seeks a General Anesthesiologist to provide anesthetics at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC. The physician will conduct patient evaluations and develop an anesthetic plan, supervise CRNAs, and ensure safe care with optimal outcomes during general and regional procedures.

Responsibilities include perioperative management, post-anesthesia care, and collaboration with surgical teams.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or eligibility in anesthesiology.
• NC state medical license.
• Strong regional anesthesia skills; fellowship not required.
• Experience not required; residents welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and administers general and regional anesthetics and pain medication, adjusting as needed before, during, and after surgery.
• Provides anesthesia maintenance and adjustment before, during, and after procedures.
• Orders diagnostic tests as needed.
• Works closely with surgical specialists and supervises CRNAs and staff.
• Performs venous/arterial punctures and monitors post-anesthesia care.
• Monitors patient fluids, vitals, and electrolyte balance during procedures.
• Communicates with patients and families; manages adverse reactions.
• Mentors anesthesiology interns, residents, and fellows.
