Job summary

H2O.ai is seeking a hands-on General Accountant to join our growing finance and accounting team, reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager. The role covers accounts payable, travel & expense, cash management, and the month-end close in a fast-paced AI software environment.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of general accounting experience, strong ERP and T&E systems knowledge, and a solid grasp of US GAAP, with excellent Excel and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of general accounting experience in software/tech industry.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP S/4Hana Cloud, Campfire, Rillet).
• Proficiency in Bill.com or Ramp for procure-to-pay processes.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and core accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Support accounts payable processes, invoice entry, approvals and payments (Bill.com).
• Assist travel & expense processing in Navan and reconcile related liability accounts.
• Manage cash activity, including bank statements and reconciliations.
• Support month-end close with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain vendor records and assist 1099 reporting.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, FP&A, and People Ops for accurate expense classification.
• Contribute to cash management and forecasting.
• Help implement internal controls and best practices.
• Assist with audits and compliance initiatives.
• Identify automation opportunities and system improvements.
