Job summary

H2O.ai is seeking a hands-on General Accountant to join our growing finance team. You will manage AP, T&E, cash, month-end close, and audits in a fast-paced AI software environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in general accounting, strong ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP S/4Hana Cloud), and solid US GAAP knowledge. This is a temporary role with potential to convert to full-time and a remote-friendly culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support accounts payable with invoice entry, approvals, and payments using Bill.com.
• Support travel & expense in Navan, enforce policies, and reconcile Navan liability accounts in ERP systems.
• Manage cash activity, including uploading bank statements, cash match and bank reconciliations.
• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations for AP and cash.
• Maintain accurate vendor records and assist with 1099 reporting.
• Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate classification of expenses and timely processing of invoices.
• Contribute to cash management and forecasting with timely data management.
• Help implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting best practices.
• Assist with financial audits and compliance initiatives as required.
• Identify and support automation opportunities and system improvements to scale accounting operations.
